Customer Reviews

Working fine so farI bought 2 of these for older Stanley's that seemed to be loosing heat from around the stopper. I noticed some condensation inside of the cup, and assumed the gasket was shot. Neither of them leaked at all, but visually the old stoppers' gaskets did look shrunken and sort of abrased. The two new ones are a slightly darker color, no biggie. They do NOT have the directional pouring line on them, if that matters to you.Visually the rubber gaskets felt softer, and looked "fuller" than my original Stanley stoppers gaskets.I replaced one of the old ones, turned the full thermos upside down, shook it vigorously and didn't have any leaks.I have carried my old 1qt to work several times now with this new stopper and..........noticed some condensation inside of the cup. LOL.I guess that's normal? Who knows. I never really thought about it.Regardless my coffee still stays hot for a 12hr shift. Not warm, but hot. It'll be plenty warm and very drinkable after 24hrs(This is black without creamer or sugar).I suppose a little warmth escaping through the plastic lid, is equal to actually having to totally remove the entire stopper on older models every time you wanted a sip, letting a gulp of cold air in and hot air out. Probably an overlap in heat loss considering design types. As a designer, I can see that.As far as threads and fit goes, I really scrutinized these things(old vs. new) before swapping them out(I actually carry the old one in my lunch box just incase, lol). I can see no difference of any importance. These, as stated are for the pre '02, or "small opening" Stanley's.I can see no function difference of any importance. These seem to be very serviceable replacements in my opinion. Honestly, I'm surprised they actually make these things. It's a thermos stopper. LOL.Most company's would say F-off to those with older models and say buy one of our new thermoses. If there is a failure, I will instantly change this post. 5almost fits perfectly...It is identical in appearance to the original cap, but the thread profile is weaker so it has difficulty sealing. If you press down hard while turning it it will seal, but if not, it "slips" and does not thread. If oyu press down hard and turn too much, I suspect it will strip. Almost right. 3Not original but save the dateThis stopper is not what they show in the picture I'm pretty sure they took the picture from the internet I am mad because they sell me a picture and not the real deal the thread on the stopper it's not right it's different a little bit hard to close and open because the thread on the stopper different and I'm really disappointed 1Thermos Leakes Around The LidI was very disappointed by this product. I've used Stanley brand products for years, and love that you can get replacement parts. However, this lid doesn't seal well at all. If you tighten the lid enough to stop it from leaking, then you can't get a good enough grip on the lid to twist it off. I like the fact that it's one lid, and not two lids as was the original design, but what good is it if it leaks. 2They have you by the gonies on this one.Stanley, Stanley, Stanley. You trifling son of a gun. I have a vintage Stanley thermos that I got from my dad. One of the old school, made in the US of A units. All was well, until the stopper went missing. I was beside myself, because when the integral part from a cherished item goes missing it does two things. One, takes a perfectly servicable item and turns it into clutter, and two, causes a significant amount of consternation. The replacement stopper is good, but expensive for what it is. It does however, keep your Thermos as a Thermos instead of clutter. 3No es el producto que cre que compreCuando compro el termo de litro (excelente) Amazon me ofrece el pico cebador, veo que hay alguno que dice para termos anteriores a 2002, tengo cuidado en comprar el posterior a 2002..pero definitivamente recib la versi n vieja, porque hasta al termo de 1/2 litro le queda grande....cuando lo recibo, reviso el pedido y pareciera que me equivoque yo...pero si hago la busqueda, el pico correcto NO aparece...yo chequee cuando compre porque vi que habia diferencia y estaba aclarado... 1Add a second o-ring and it works great; without, it's next to junkI had to add a 1/16 thick o-ring to the bottom of the stopper to keep it from leaking while sitting on it's side. Cost 40 cents from the hardware store, no big deal but was an extra unnecessary trip when two o-rings should be provided all along (Stanley provides some versions of the same part with two o-rings). I'm disappointed in Stanley for not always using two o-rings when having only one o-ring leaks. 2Liked it but it is over pricedLiked it but it is over priced. but I was stuck with the price, no competition. The one I had broke when I dropped it. This does leak a little when used for pouring. I roll up a paper towel and stick in the top of it and use that to catch / clean up the dripping / spills that occur. 3As others have complained, this is a very leaky ...As others have complained, this is a very leaky stopper and is not close to the quality of either the old Number 13 pour through stopper ( two piece ), or the single piece ( not pour through ) stopper. This has discouraged me against Stanley products generally, and I won't be buying a replacement from Stanley for the Thermos they made obsolete. If you had an older two piece stopper or solid ( not pour through ) stopper and the bottom of your thermos says Replacement Stopper 13, I would steer clear of this product, as others had warned, and I should have heeded their warning. 1Replaces a number eleven stopper perfectly. This is a perfect , drip tight, fit for my 2-quart, A945B, thermos, which was old when I bought it at a thrift store in about 1983. My thermos indicates that it takes a number eleven stopper, and this is an effective replacement.Other folks are complaining about the pouring feature dripping. I haven t noticed that as an issue. But I generally take the stopper all the way out: who has two minutes to fill a cup, as the coffee slowly pours out. 5
