Would like this in a colder climate too since I would ... Lovely, well-made. The spread is not heavy which I prefer for a top cover in a warmer climate. Would like this in a colder climate too since I would simply put an additional insulating layer underneath.If you want it to reach the floor as in the picture, you need to order a larger spread and depending on the height of your bed, it may not reach the floor. In my guest bedroom, this bedspread is about 1 inch above the floor and I ordered a king size spread for a queen bed. 5Beautiful pattern, excellent quality, contrasting trim and reverse side a nice touch. Ordered this in full/queen (in black/white) for a guest room on Friday night, with guests coming Monday. It arrived Sunday afternoon!, which I never expected. I LOVE it. Just the right weight I was looking for since I prefer to layer bedding (blanket and quilt in winter, just quilt in summer) rather than heavy or puffy comforters which are too hot to use year-round. Also love that it's cotton and very soft and supple for a quilt. I've read complaints that it shrinks after washing, but afterall, it's cotton, and that goes with the territory, so I will dry on very low heat when I wash it. 5i love this quilt i actually bought this to see how the material felt before buying another one that's more expensive by the same company. after 4-5 weeks and a few washes, its still in great shape and holding together nicely. i actually like it so much ill probably wait a while before getting the other one because the design on this one looks better in person than i was expecting, over all review i love this quilt. 5HANG DRY, WILL SHRINK We bought this King quilt set for our new bed. I waited until we received the bed to take it out of the package and wash it. {and it was so hard to wait to use it because it was just so gorgeous...lol} I absolutely LOVE this gorgeous black & white quilt set.....and it is very soft and comfy. Unfortunately, all 3 pieces shrank when I washed/dried it. I followed the care instructions exactly as they are listed and they still shrank. If I would have only known they would shrink this much, I would have hung all 3 pieces to dry. And this is a drastic difference. When I took it out of the package to put it into the washing machine, I unfolded it completely to make sure that I got out all of the cardboard.....and when I opened it up length-wise, it was so huge, even though I was holding it up above my head with arms extended, the other end was still dragging on the floor....and I am 6 feet tall. Now after washing/drying, the blanket, it is no where near as big. If I had to guess, I would say it shrank about 4-6+ inches.....this is now more like "full/queen" size. The difference is very noticeable. Now a standard size pillow fits perfectly in the King shams....they shrank that much. The company really needs to change the washing instructions. 2Love Works perfect for summer!! Not to heavy! WillWork great in winter under comforter 5Uneven This is a very beautiful quilt. It is lightweight but that was ok because I wanted a quilt to use in the summer and it's just right. I'm only giving it three stars because the pattern is uneven. When you try to straighten it on the bed with the decoration evenly spread over the bed, the sides are uneven. I think the material was cut wrong before it was applied to the backing. I hope I have explained this so you will understand. I had expected better from the Laura Ashley brand. 3A perfect fit for my bed. Better than expected. I bought this quilt to have a little change of look in my bedroom. I have grey carpeting and gray curtains so I wanted something that would take in either gray or black in color. It was difficult to find the perfect spread. I wanted a pattern instead of a solid color and had been searching online for nearly a year for something that appealed to me. After reading several reviews about the spread I was a little afraid that it would be too lightweight, but I added a blanket onto my bed and the quilt is perfect. Kept me nice and warm all through the winter. The pattern is black on white, so I bought a fitted black bedskirt at the same time. I have washed it once in my home washer and it came out beautifully. I don t think that it shrunk at all. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to others. 5Disappointed..... I wanted to 'convert' a high-rise twin bed into a day bed. Bed skirt is too small; and quilted cover too big. You can't even see the bed skirt since the cover goes all the way to the floor; but is not long enough to hide where the skirt does not meet at the corners! Now I see I am too late for a return so any other day bed covers purchased I cannot rely on this brand. Like the other reviews this is black and white NOT grey and white as the pictures all show. Buyer beware. Disappointed since I love the looks of it in the picture and bought same because I actually wanted black instead of grey. Thank you. 2I am a little disappointed! First off I was looking for 100% quilt I was so excited to receive my Laura Ashley Amberley quilt. I am a little disappointed !First off I was looking for 100% Cotton quilt. Online it reads 100% but on the tags when it arrives it says 80% 20% fill. Second I loved this quilt online because it looked like it had a dark grey reversible side..... well it doesn t . It s a small black and white diamond pattern . This may be ok for some but I really wanted the dark grey color !!! Lastly it is super super thin . This is ok for me because I just wanted it to throw over my down comforter to add a pop of pattern . This may be ok in summer but won t keep you warm in winter . Also runs small I ordered for a queen should have ordered a king for a queen . Pretty pattern tho so gave it 3 stars . Kind of disappointed tho ! 3Great quality bedding. 100% real cotton. Perfect 100% cotton quilt with shams. Excellent quality. Holds up to washing.Minimal shrinkage. Color stayed true. Light weight and breathable. Very pleased with this purchase. I'm only using 100% real cotton for bedding now, and it makes all the difference in the world as far as a good nights sleep goes. 5
