Customer Reviews

Wonderful granny forkBeautiful & well made. I m 56 I ve never had my own cooking granny fotk. But did inherit my moms This is well made and tines are sharp enough to get job done cooking. Beats up eggs easily. So glad I got thus and hope my daughters enjoy when it getsInherited to them.5Super ForkThis is just a great fork for using when you need one this size for anything you want to turn over. Except fish that is . This is my 3rd one I love these forks . My first one I use to turn over fried chicken. I ordered this one for my trailer. I hate to be with out one. But each of my boys have collected the other 2 I had in the kitchen. Can not go wrong with this fork. But buy 2 just to make sure you have one .5JUNK OVER PRICED NOT at all sturdy very small YES you Will BURN you Hand Total waste of money i will never buy anything from this company But now that they have My Money You know they don't care 1Excellent mixing fork. I love this little fork. It is my go to mixing fork for everything from scrambled eggs, French toast, to pastry dough. It is sturdy, well made and a good weight. It could be a slight bit larger, I have large hands. 5Does the JobThis was to replace a fork I had that was lost to Hurricane Harvey. The old fork was larger, not in length, but in width/ thicker handles and tines on the old one. I still miss my old one, but this works fine and is a nice quality. I wasn't able to find anything locally that approaches this.4Why this great fork is faultyThis is a well-made fork for utility work in your kitchen, in my kitchen; however, it has a design flaw that is easily corrected by the maker at cost so small that it should cause no rise in retail price; the tongs need to be slightly curved, which would enhance the utility and feel of the fork.3It's a made in America keeper.Well made, durable. I polished the handle with cutting board oil so this fork should last for many years. The wood handle is a pleasing touch; if it had been plastic I would not have purchased the fork. And the brass rivets add to its appeal. On the surface it may seem a bit expensive but you will only have to buy it once. It's made to last a lifetime if you take care of it.5American made product I've been a Lamson fan for years. Somehow lost my Granny forks in the move to Arizona, so this is a replacement. Reliable and a great size for those times when you don't need a 12"-long fork for cooking. 5Love it. Growing up as a kid I have memories of a fork like this my mother had. That was fifty some years ago and it was ancient then. But it was the go too utensile especially when cooking bacon.I found one somewhat like it allthough with not as sharp tines which I remedied with a file and have used it for at least twenty years. It's still perfect for what I use it for but I wanted another for backup.Searching the net I found this fork from Lamsonsharp. And one from Rada.I bought them bothThe Lamsonsharp is very well made and I feel worth the money. Now that I have it unless it is lost it will last my lifetime .The Rada is a different story and for another review. 5These are Cooking Forks, Not Meat Forks!I like Lamson products, but bought both this 10" Lamson granny fork and the Miu 10" granny fork, and like the finished wood on the Miu much better than the unfinished wood on the Lamson. I don't like the feeling of the unfinished wood in my hand, nor think it will hold up as well. I've put mineral oil on the handle too, but it didn't make much of a difference. This is a nice cooking fork, the quality is good, and it's virtually identical to the Miu forks, apart from the handle finish. My personal preference is for the finished wood handle on the Miu. Some people like the unfinished wood more, so it's a matter of personal preference, really. Do pay attention to the size of the fork you order, since these come in various lengths!I've read a lot of reviews on these Lamson forks and many people seem confused about what these are or complained of forks being too small, but they'd selected the 7" forks, which is a small size, no longer than a regular dinner fork. Other people complained of these being too flimsy or not strong enough--but those people were expecting these to be meat forks--these are NOT meat forks, these are cooking forks, there is a difference! People needing meat forks should not buy these. These are not intended for lifting heavy roasts out of pans, nor for shredding large hunks of tough meat. These are for cooking tasks, such as turning things in a saute pan, and a 10" or 12" fork is long enough to protect hands from hot grease and cooking spatters.4This is Dainty - It's a lovely product - and made well - but dainty - not what I was looking for the pick up steaks and stuff - but it works fine... 3Still a kitchen necessitySome may think a two tine fork is only for holding meat to carve or lifting meat out of the pan. I love a two tine fork for scrambling eggs and for turning bacon on the grill. And poking a potato before baking it, is more easily done with a two tine fork as compared with a three tine fork.I absolutely love "made in the USA" as most everything we look at now is made in China......sad to say!The quality is outstanding. the two tines are perfectly aligned and have just the right curvature. The walnut handle is a nice touch, tho I've nothing against modern plastic handles. But given a choice I'll take wood and these wood handles are nicely fitted and the rivets perfectly smooth. Oh, and sharp! Yes indeed the tines are actually sharp! So many other cheap forks have dull tines; it was refreshing to find a fork with sharp tines!I know a fork is a pretty dull item ..... but a good kitchen fork is a joy to have and use. LampsonSharp comes thru with forks that are a pleasure to look at, to hold and to use!5Hard to find ClassicAbout 50 years ago, my brother gave me one of these types of forks. Used it for decades until it finally died. So glad I found this product on Amazon. Have ordered two of them now. And I'll admit, I do put it in the dishwasher, which does make the wood dry out, but still just as functional. Use them all the time. Perfect length and glad it has the 3 tines. I expect to get years more use out of these two forks. So much better for cooking with than a regular fork. The sharper tines make them much more utilitarian for manipulating items being cooked.5My Caveman Dinner ForkI have had the longer version for years. I live alone and sometimes want a nice steak when that happens I'll be reaching for this one as a dinner fork and accompany it with a fierce knife. It brings out the caveman in me. It also does a great job flipping meat in a cast iron pan.5Great bushcraft fork! Great for the kitchen! Great for the woods! This is an awesome fork for camp cooking! Its strong enough to lift large pieces of meat. Packs away small and after I made a leather cover to slip over the tins I dont have to worry about my gear or hands getting poked! After opening the package and examining the fork I dropped it into a plastic bottle full of boiled linseed oil and left it a week. Then I pulled it out and dryed it off. Left it sitting on some paper towels a few days so the excess could soak out. Then I applied beeswax and heated it so the beeswax would absorb into the wood. Now it has a nice slip proof grip that repels water and prevents any nasties from soaking into the wood!5
