So happy I found this-no fragrence and great cleaningI'll start by saying that I have been using cascade for over 15 years. I must have tried over 12 other brands to try to either save money or use a less chemical brand. None had worked nearly as well and some not at all. About 2 years ago I became really sensative to smells and I started making my body wash, shampoo, hand soap, laundry and all my cleaning supplies fragrance free. And let me tell u it has not been easy. I can smell even the slightest smells that other people can't. Needless to say I have found a brand for all of the aforementioned products but it took a long time. The last product I need was a dishwasher detergent. I tried only one other brand because they are hardly ever in the supermarket. That brand was awful. So what I started doing is putting my powerful whirlpool air purifier on in front of the dishwasher when I ran it. Needless to say it really didn't work well and it was making me dread running the dishwasher.So I went on amazon and did a search and I found a few brands. This one and another one were tied in the rating. So I literally just picked this one to try first. I am so glad that I did! I tried it twice already and it cleaned my dishes as good as cascade and without the stink! No more air purifier needed. I used to have to rise all my dishes to get the stink off not to mention all the chemicals. And I love the little drop in instead of the gel and powder. Plus it looks like it hardly uses any chemical most enzymes to breakdown the food. Amazing! I love it, it's perfect! I don't need to try any other brands.Even with my super smell I can only smell the slightest bit of soap if I open the dishwasher right after. But if I let it sit for an hour or 10 hours, I almost couldn't tell if I even ran the dishwasher because there is no smell lol. I only could tell because all the dishes and cutlery were very clean. This is really a perfect product, so I had to write a review. 5GREAT for Hard waterThe best detergent for Hard water. Had a love/hate relationship with my dishwasher when we moved in- loved that it did the dishes, hated how much pre and Post washing I had to do.Luckily someone in town mentioned this detergent, I was initially skeptical as I don't usually like "pods", but was willing to try. Before grab Green is tried all your typical liquid or powder formulations, I even made my own powder with borax, washing soda, etc- which was a pain but almost worked, except I could never get the ratios right to have it Not leave a powdery white film in my water glasses or kids' plastic dishes. No thanks.Grab green is easy to use, dissolved completely, leaves no weird residue on my dishes (glass, plastic, stainless pans...) And best of all actually cleans the crud off them! I always run my sink water to hot right before I hit start on the DW, not sure if that helps but I read it somewhere. I am So happy with the job these pods do, now I'm tempted to try a scented bag next (were only bought unscented so far) 5Would like a return but they say it cat because it ...Item arrived damaged, majority of dish washing pods damaged and detergent in bottom of bag. Would like a return but they say it cat because it has flammable gasses or liquids. Smells great but Wouldn t recommend. 1Horrible residue!I used this product for the first time sometime ago through Grove and loved it! However, they stopped selling it for awhile for some reason and recently found it here and have been using it and it s awful now! I m so disappointed! Idk if they changed their formula or what but it now leaves a pasty feeling white residue on ALL our dishes and even coats the dishwasher. Maybe we got a lemon bag but I m not willing to pay for another one to test it out. I m not even going to use half the bag I already have! Not only am I loving these for my dishes but also my dishwasher. I was using another "natural" dishwashing detergent and thought I was going to have to buy a dishwasher, because nothing was getting clean. One wash with these pods and my dishes were so clean. Also the inside of my dishwasher is cleaner! I love that they are natural and in the pod form. I have hard water and these have done great. There is a "fresh" smell to them when you open the bag, but there is no scent left on the dishes. Since using these I no longer have been washing my dishes after I take them out of my dishwasher, like I was doing with the previous brand I used. 5These Pods Don't Work!These were so awful! I thought something was wrong with my dishwasher because my dishes weren't coming out sparkling or even very clean. I kept having to run the dishwasher multiple times to get them clean.. then, I switched back to Cascade's pods and realized that my dishwasher's fine, these Grab Green pods just don't work. They also smelled awful- rancid, almost? Very unpleasant. 1About 2/3 of the dishwasher pods turned to powder in the Grab Green jar in only 2-monthsThis was a re-order. The product is great, but this time it cme in an acrylic jar not a pouch. After about 4-wks I noticed that a few of the pods had turned to powder. The Amazon 30-day return policy had passed, yet the product was defective. My earlier purchase of 60ct pouch had lasted over a year w/ the pods intact. I sent two emails to Grab Green via their customer support link at the Grab Green website. No reply. Yesterday I did manage to reach the Customer Service Rep via a toll-free number. Turns out they had no record of either complaint from their website. My issue was unique to them. -- not at all common. The bottom line, however, is that they lived up to their promise to "satisfy their customers" and have replaced the product now in a pouch including free shipping. They were also very concerned that my emails had been lost in their IT system. In the end, Grab Green supported me and assuming no further "break-apart" issues I will continue reordering their effective product. By the way, they have recently phased out the acrylic jar and replaced it with a pouch. Since I did get real help from Grab Green Customer Service, I felt I should revise my earlier very negative rating. 4Works, but leaves an awful taste on your dishes!After finding the liquid 7th Generation dishwashing detergent to be utterly useless, I decided to try out the Grabgreen Tangerine detergent in hopes of discovering a green detergent that actually works. I can say that this detergent does work quite well, however your dishes come out smelling of tangerines (not so bad) and tasting like bitter tangerine detergent! I've never used a dishwashing product that has left a smell on my dishes before (let alone a taste), and the flavor/smell will stick with your dishes until they are rinsed in water. I first discovered the taste issue when I had washed/sterilized my baby's teething toys and noticed they smelled, so I put one in my mouth to see if it had a taste, and boy was it nasty - not something I want my kid to ingest, I don't care if it's green or not. To make matters worse, I had to take all my cups and silverware and hand wash them so I could use them without the obnoxious smell and taste.Amazon kindly refunded my order, and I am hopeful that the Grabgreen UNSCENTED dishwashing detergent will meet my expectations. Honestly, I am not sure how the other reviewers didn't have this problem, the odor is quite pungent!**UPDATE** (12/29/11)The unscented detergent is wonderful, no smells and it works perfectly. I'm here to reorder! 2DISGUSTING WHITE PARTICLESWhite particles are VISIBLE in the little bits of water left at the end of even our most intense cycle. We have a brand new Bosch dishwasher. European dishwashers don't have heating elements for drying- they use condensation. More energy efficient but it does mean there's always a little water left at the end of every cycle. I've been wondering why the dishwasher has a slight chemical smell when I open it at the end of the cycle. Tonight I finally noticed tiny white particles in water that was left in the bottom of some glass containers that were on their sides instead of facing down. Believe me, if I've taken the time to write this review, it's because I want other purchasers to know that the product truly leaves a significant amount of residue behind. That means you're eating that residue. That means my 1.5 year old is eating it. UNACCEPTABLE. This is not user error and it's not water hardness. We live in San Francisco, where our water is soft. Going back to Seventh Generation pods. More expensive but obviously worth it. Wish I could return the other bag of these I still have left. 1Cancelling our subscribe and saveAfter receiving this product for several years on subscribe and save and being satisfied, we just canceled it. As other reviewers have pointed out, too many pods are broken upon delivery. Also, we wonder if the formula has recently changed as our dishes are not getting as clean as they used to (too much re-washing!) we do use a rinse aid, and I've run cleaning cycles on the dishwasher with vinegar and baking soda, so I'm left to believe these just aren't doing the job anymore. I hate to leave a negative review for any natural/nontoxic product, but we're switching to something else. 2
