    We really like this Panini Press and end up using quite a ...I am always dubious about the worth of "Kitchen Gadgets". They usually aren't that helpful and eventually end up forgotten on a shelf in the garage or donated to a Thrift Store. We really like this Panini Press and end up using quite a lot. I would say it's replaced our toaster about 30% of the time. 5Excellent ProductWorks really well for panini s. Don t buy if you re going to cook meats or poultry. Not set up with drainage for that 5Perfect sandwich maker and toasterI m so glad I purchased this panini press instead of one of the cheaper plastic ones. I m sure this one will last a very long time. It s so easy to use and clean the non-stick surface. And I like that there are slight grill marks on only one side instead of the deep impressions on both sides like so many of the other products have. So far, I ve made perfect grilled cheese sandwiches (with no added oil), great quesadillas, and wonderful bruschetta. I can toast two sandwiches at once, even using large slices of bread, and can use regular size tortillas (the smooth toasting surface is 7-3/4 x 11-1/4 ). This is my first product like this, and I don t plan to use it for grilling, although I could. It folds up compactly for storage and is small enough to fit in our appliance garage cabinet on the kitchen counter.Note: There is no on/off switch, but it s simple enough to unplug after using. It has a light to let you know when it s heated up and ready to use. There is no way to collect grease, but the smooth lower surface is so easy to clean with a moist paper towel.For me, it s perfect. 5Perfect pressed sandwiches every time!Got this press because son took my larger Breville press to college. Needed one for his visits so he can feed himself! Purchased from Amazon warehouse so the price was appealing. Perfect size for one large or two smaller sandwiches. Heats quickly and cooks evenly. Clean up is a breeze. Couldn t be happier. 5Very helpful in cooking anything; works great!My family is all gluten free. We have always tried to make paninis but we always come out with a subpar version of the real meal. This press toasts bread easily. We use it to make burritos, sandwiches, hash browns, eggs, and fried potatoes. It is almost always on the counter all day because we use it so much. I strongly recommend this for families and kitchens. It is a wonderful appliance to have in the kitchen and I am glad that we found it. 5Works well for grilled sandwichesI purchased this panini press after checking out the reviews for various models. The only negative thing I can say about it is that it doesn't have an on-off switch. I guess I missed that. Otherwise, it doesn't take long to heat up, sandwiches are nicely browned without using oil or butter, and the contents are hot. Thicker breads or rolls take some extra time and had to be moved a few times. The top really isn't heavy enough to flatten them out. It's easy to clean even with melted cheese. 4Breville panini maker is worth it for the long haul.I'm addicted to panini now thanks to this amazing appliance. When first using, I plugged it in and follow the instruction as if making a panini but did not put any food in the machine to allow the initial factory smell to go away after about 10 min without closing it then turned it off, let it cooled off then wiped it clean with damp soapy cloth, dried it and it was ready to be used without any lingering initial odor. They provide also a booklet with lots of recipes. I have the Breville smart oven for a year and half and I know this will be durable also. 5Wish top plate was flat like bottom; and the whole unit smaller in both directions.Actually, 5 x 8.5 inch is the most ideal for a small one; and 7 x 10.5 is the most ideal for a big one.This one is 7.5 x 11.25.Like the Heat it gives off and the sturdy hinge movement and the flat smooth plate botom. Its fast and great!Dislike the height adjustment being too big between increments Toast and Melt; I like the Toast level, but would prefer smaller increments of height on the 3 levels above the Toast level; It doesn't need to go up that high; and the Open level seems uneeded.Oh, and like the strong port grip that makes it durable, instead of early braking wire like others I've had. If it lasts 3 times as long, it's a third the cost realy!Egs and bread together is great. Wish is was flat on top to minimize mess. 5Love it. Best breville buySo finally I bought Breville Panini maker after due consideration and comparing with various other products. It serves the purpose and is very useful for a family of 4. In one go I can make 4 sandwiches/ open toasties. However after few uses I realize that the base gets heated up after using it twice and the bread starts getting burnt. So you need to let the machine cool down a bit before you can use it again. which i guess is not so bad. No smoke, no smell and easy to use. I like it and can't wait to experiment more. 4Great little deviceGreat little device: warms up quickly and prepares paninis in no time. It's powerful enough to make panini out of frozen bread w/o thawing. The fact that the cooking plates are not removable is not a problem at all. It's very easy to clean them with a wet napkin or a sponge. Love it. Takes little space and can be conveniently stored in a kitchen cabinet. I own a coffee maker from Breville and they again didn't disappoint! 5
