    Smells really bad, not very flexible, sharp edgesI need to air my apartment for two days before the smell died down a little bit or I got used to the smell. Not only stinks up your bathroom, but any connected room as well.Really stiff material, don't expect the fold lines to go away any time soon. It's also a bit long so the bottom edge extends a bit into the bathtub, and you can feel when you steps on it.All four edges except the top edge is just left as is without any hem, and given the stiffness of the material it's pretty sharp if you are not careful.Only plus is it does block all the water so your bathroom floor is dry, compared to just a fabric shower curtain without any waterproofing treatment. 2Bad product!The grommets are not level down the top line of the shower curtain. Some sit higher and some sit lower and then then pop off the hooks! Not to mention one grommet fell off before I even got it hung up. What a waste of money!UPDATE: 7/11/18 I did receive another new shower curtain and it is actually a very nice curtain. No magnets are needed to hold this curtain down and away from you. Now that the grommets are in a straight line they do not come off my hooks. I will buy again, but will be hoping that there is more quality control before sending out all shower curtains.Purchased this again and maybe I am just unlucky, but I thought 12 holes was universal. This curtain had 13. I give up, not worth it! 1For the price, this stuff is great!I bought 2. I'm using these as transparent wind and rain breakers in an outdoor project - not as shower curtains. ;-)Before ordering them, I had been looking at transparent tarps - which turn out to be quite expensive! I thought I might as well try out these curtains instead, which were 1/3 the price or less and the same size as the tarps I was considering.Turns out they are perfect for the job! The material is nice and thick and heavy, and so transparent that you can comfortably see through them. Perfect low cost alternative to the transparent tarps.So there's a hint for you, in case you have a project like that - they aren't just shower curtains! ;-) 5DO NOT BUY!! TOXIC SMELL FROM TOXIC MATERIAL PVC.The shower curtain liner had strong pungent smell for the two days I had it in the bathroom. I thought the smell would go away soon, but my throat got so scratchy after the first night and I couldn't help but look up the material. Oh boy, it's PVC!!! How could Amazon private label this toxic material and sell it at a premium price??? I immediately went to my local Target and picked up a $2.99 PVC-free liner and it works fine without any smell!Lesson: DO NOT blindly trust AmazonBasics just coz it's Amazon, or any product just coz it's more expensive!PS: I got refunded as it's a "defective item", to be honest a product that should've never been made in the first place.For those who've already purchased and been using the PVC liner, throw it out right now for the health of yourself and your loved ones!! 1Great, thick shower curtain. Buy it!I often wonder if different people get different products. This is a great shower curtain. The grommets line up perfectly. The weight is enough to hold the curtain in place at the bottom without magnets yet it does not fold in on itself. And, best of all, without magnets on the bottom there are no seams on the bottom of the curtain to create mildew; the water just rolls off, unimpeded. When I have gotten mildew on previous shower curtains it was always at the bottom seam. There was no powder with or on the curtain I received. The odor is the same as a new car smell and it is already dissipating. I took the photos right after using the shower so the curtain is wet in the photo but if I did not take a photo right then I would have forgotten. You can see in the photo of the bottom corner of the curtain there are no seams. 5STINKS SOOOOO BAD!Ugh it gave me a migraine for a week you literally cannot going to the restroom you hang this in for about a week because the toxic fumes are so strong it actually burns your eyes!!!! I m totally disappointed in this purchase and I bought two of them to boot! Super upset as I wish people were more honest with their reviews! The only reason I bought this was based on the reviews and no one mentions the fact that you cannot even be in the same house with this thing when it s open until the order passes. I feel like I threw my money down the garbage don t buy look for another one that won t smell. 1heavy, strongHere is how I check the quality without seeing it first: I look at the shipping weight and compare that to others.Because I prefer a clear curtain for my shower I have had years of buying them. They are not all equal. This is the 2nd one of these I've gotten. The first one is 3 years old, still fine. This is for my other bath as a liner. It came with very cheap, plain white rings which are OK and I can donate them. This curtain is thick and heavy so it will not blow around by the force of shower water. The holes are strong enough to not rip when you open/close. 5I love it so much not I decided not to use ...This is the first time I found a liner that is truly heavy duty, a very very thick material, so there is no concern for it not having magnets on the bottom as this REALLY stays in place...There is also no folded seam on the bottom or sides to "potentially" become mildewy...all edges are simply straight cut edges.I love it so much not I decided not to use the outside curtain with it, as we are enjoying the light this lets into the the shower area making it feel roomier. However be warned for those of you who are sensitive, that this does give off an odor ***I'm super sensitive to chemical smells - but hubby didn't notice any smell, go figure. Since I didn't have anywhere that I could place it to "off-gas" for a few days, after hanging it up that night, I used a small fan blowing towards the open window. (thankfully it is summertime) ...the next morning the smell was not as bad, but I then remembered one of those helpful hints and placed a cotton ball treated with citronella essential oil on a nearby shelf, to help clarify the air, and that REALLY did the trick. Next morning I was able to turn off the fan...Also upon opening the package, there was a fine white powdery substance on the outside of the curtain which did wipe off easily with a damp rag (I thought maybe it was applied to make sure you can easily unfold the curtain ? just a guess, who knows...)Now after having this up for over a month the water spots were starting to bother me so I liberally sprayed it with that scrubbing bubbles spray foam, let it do it's thing, it just dripped down and I didn't even have to rinse it...and now I'm really in love LOL no more water spots (and we have hard water) In all fairness I did not deduct a star for the odor since it is stated as being PVC and it was my error in not catching it -> after going back and forth reading reviews for all contenders, in the end and haste to "pull the trigger" I overlooked it...BUT I am glad I did because (1) the enjoyment - yes, enjoyment over a shower curtain/liner :-) is well worth the short off-gas and (2) had I remembered the hint about using essential oils to clarify the air sooner, it really would not have any issue whatsoever... 5Waste the $10 and get a whiff for yourselfProducts like this are the reason why Amazon sucks to buy a lot of things from. It is crazy to me that Amazon would tarnish the Amazon Basics brand name with this liner. I have bought mattresses, wintergear, pillows, and about anything else that could contain reviews about odor.. There never was there a time that any of those items remotely bothered me. This is different. The comment about burning your eyes bad is definitely the best way to describe it... especially if you try to air out the bathroom with a fan.. the smell is so putrid I think Jeff Bezo s would have an aneurism if he was aware it wore the AmazonBasics name. I should have listened to these reviews but never could I have truly anticipated just how bad this smell could be. I have a new shower curtain liner on the way already because you are better off with an old moldy shower curtain than this BS. 1Stains, a Hole, and that PVC aroma! What more could I ask for?I'm in the final stages of a home renovation. Wednesday 4/3/19, I ordered the Amazon Basics shower liner, two Amazon Basics shower curtains, and the Maytex Double Glide Decorative Hooks. The items were delivered early this evening (4/4/19). I opened the shower liner out the box and I saw what I thought were stains. I began to hang the shower liner and as shown in the photos I submitted, there were stains galore; white stains and dark brown stains. Also what seemed to be taped over spots on the liner, and finally I spotted a hole in one of the seams. Of course I am returning this subpar product right away, but first I had to let off some steam in this review. This product was a total letdown, considering the usually good quality of items I have purchased under the Amazon Basics brand in the past few years. This was probably a previously returned item that was repackaged and sold again. Perhaps this shower liner was one dud out of many good ones, but just do better, Amazon. 1
